William's Corner

QUESTION: How'd ya feel like spending RM200 at the mamak stall?

You know, with a serving of roti canai and teh tarik, maybe with an extra bowl of dal, something like that. Usually that only cost you like RM2, perhaps? That's 100 times cheaper, literally.

How was that even possible? RM200, really?! Well, everything is possible at William's!

Foursquare check-in here, in case you get lost.

Just a little background introduction: If you are familiar with Murni SS2, you'd be surprised to now know that William's is actually Murni's brother.

It just happened that last Sunday, my friends and I decided to crash at William's to dip the luscious smoked turkey ham mozzarella cheese-naan into the so-called legendary coffee chocolate sauce with dal that my friend exaggeratedly described.

William's was jam-packed with all the Muslim families who were there to break fast. I gotta say, this has gotta be the most ideal place to break fast.

I was starving like hell when I got there, in addition to that, the further description from 3 glutton friends of mine about how scrumptious the food could be, I could not hold myself back but to tyrannically drag the William's crew who was serving at other table to take our order despite how engaged they are .

Sitting there and start sourcing for food as per taught by Law of Attraction, together with the energy of imagination and manifesting from the subconscious mind of 5 iao gui(s), dinner was finally served within 10 minutes.

On the table, there were seafood chowder and garlic bread, served HOT!

Dipping the garlic bread into uber-hot seafood chowder with prawns, sotong and lala all together, and the texture of the soup was just nice, not so creamy, but not so mild, and the warm appetising taste swirling in the mouth cavity, only one word can express the feeling - AWESOME! (because the word "heaven" is overrated)

The seafood chowder turned not-so-nice when the temperature dropped after a while, followed by fishy odour that starts to manifest subsequently, taught us one very important lesson: FOOD DON'T WAIT, EAT WHILE ITS HOT! Remember that!

Next on the list, after a hot, satisfying chowder, were the drinks: Ribena longan and herb soda.

Blackcurrant with longan, served chilled.

Ice cream soda with lemongrass, mint leaves, asam and longan, served chilled.

Those mentioned above were the appetiser. As I couldn't bare the waiting time for the other dishes to be served, I boldly went into the kitchen, sniffing around to check out how the foods were prepared. The kitchen was so spacious and congested at the same time, for the scale of the kitchen was at least 4 times bigger compared to a normal mamak kitchen, with lots of utensils and seducing ingredients.

Coincidentally, with help from a bit of food luck, I managed to catch a peek on how they pack the foods for takeaway. There was this pack of nasi goreng soft shell crab left open on the table, overflowing out of the box and the lid just wouldn't close because its too much to contain for the little polystyrene box. While the packing dude went to look for a rubber band to strap the lids together, I literally did a quickdraw move, pulling out the camera like a cowboy pulling out his gun during a showdown, and took a photo of the takeaway box.

See that portion? Walau-eh!

After a nice 30 seconds visit to the origin of all William's foods, I fashionable marched back to our table with my belly proudly sticking out of my jeans, and was overjoyed seeing another dish served on the table - Mee Raja soft shell crab

Although it looks a bit like the Chinese wonton noodle, however, comparatively, Mee Raja was far way better a delight. The noodle was well cooked where every individual strand of noodle were separated distinctively from another. The moment I suck the noodles into my mouth, it was so smooth that it literally slipped between my lips like catfish slipping away from the fisherman's hand, and went straight down my throat. The best part is when the strong taste of soy sauce together with the sweetness of the soft shell crab that were left on the lips, tongue, all the way down the throat - pure ORGASMIC!

Smoked turkey ham carbonara and lasagna meatball were next on the list, and our stomachs were half fulfilled already. But the cheesy smell of lasagna, meatball at the size of half a fist, the creamy look of carbonara when forked up by everyone, and the cheesy stretch of the lasagna surface, its just plain irresistible that I am willing to stuff myself to death!

See the amount of cream and turkey ham? O-M-G!

Meatball of the size of half a fist, no joke, I tell you!

Just when we are about to finish up the meatball lagsana and smoked turkey ham carbonara, there comes another dish - lamb shank with nasi biryani. At this point, I officially declare close to any incoming food, for my stomach cannot take it anymore. Lamb shank at the size of 2 full grown man palms, that's one hell of a portion, seriously. Lesson to learn: Do not order too much food. You will die. LOL.

See the overflowing dripping juice? That's what I'm talking about.

The nasi is unlimited refill, FYI. And we didn't refill, that is. Not after so many dishes before the lamb shank.

Oh ya, before I forgot, the "legendary" coffee chocolate with dal

Sweet, salty, spicy, sourish, all at one go. Can't ask for more, eh?

We finally finished all the food on the table, with some slight leftovers, which we asked our backup to assist in clearing it all - the cat under our dining table.

The cat also seduced. Look at the extremely sparkling eyes.

Before we officially declare victory of conquering the William's, Gun decided to hit some bonus points just for the fun of it, hence he ordered another mango ice blended with watermelon.

Mango ice blended, with watermelon slices and cubes buried within. Chilling, cooling and sweeeeeet~

Finally, by the power of the universe, the VeryLapar crew, officially, conquered William's like nobody's business!!! Yaman!!!

If you're wondering about the prices of the food, scroll up and read the menu yourself, you lazy bump :D
