Wafiy Burger

You might've heard those Ramlee burger stores, the place where you grab one or two burger ayam or burger ayam special for your Manchester United vs. Chelsea football match, or perhaps just the most affordable supper you can get with your thin, airy wallet containing a few residual blue notes.

One that you can find almost everywhere, in housing areas to supermarkets, from Perlis to Johor Bahru, sometimes Singapore, from Peninsular to Malaysian Borneo, they're everywhere - or at least, ALMOST.

Just like what folks always say "If you are hungry and got no money, go buy Ramlee burger la"

In order to kick-start this newly established verylapar.blogspot.com, we decided to go for some food hunting at our founder's hometown, as well as one of our favourite hangouts, KLANG.

Yeah, Donnie Klang will take you there, baby.

No lar, just joking.

Anyway, at the suburbs of Klang town, lies a burger store called the Wafiy Burger.

This is how it looks like, just in case you are expecting for some sort of 5 star hotel/restaurant look or something like that:

The substantial distinction between Wafiy's and Ramly's is the theme colour. Wafiy's is blue and Ramly's is yellow. PS: This has nothing to do with Bersih 2.0 and UMNO. LOL.

Wafiy's was pretty well equipped with simple but creative electronic setups which improved their efficiency significantly in serving their customers. A Sony Ericson hand phone attached to 2 speakers, enabling people to call in and place their order like drive-thru in KFC or McD, except that you can call in and place your order in advance which you can't get at normal drive-thru. They are also check-in able on Foursquare, FYI.

The variation of burgers at Wafiy's were pure awesomeness. Chicken, Beef, Mutton and Venison and sausage. With reasonably cheap prices, that is actually quite a great menu - satisfying amount of options to suit the perspectives of different customers.

If you order burgers with the "special" caption, your patties will be wrapped in fried egg.

As a regular customer of Wafiy's, we've practically tried all the available burgers on the menu, and some off-menu ones. So, tonight, the VeryLapar Crew attempted a nut job burger challenge - Burger Satu Malaysia!

It consist of salad dressings, chicken patty, beef patty, mutton patty, venison patty, chicken frankfurter, cheese and benjo egg, covered with overflowing barbeque sauce, chilli sauce and mayonnaise, loads of them, in between the burger bun. The final product was taller than 2 fists stacked together.

The Burger Satu Malaysia was so big that a normal burger wrapper couldn't fit, so we decided to carry it home in our stomach. The core question is: How to put it into our stomach?

Gun knew that it is impossible to contain the whole thing in the mouth at one go, so he split it into 2 and slowly engulf it.

We bite,

we chew,

and we swallow.

Still kenot finish. The sauce was so much that we could literally drink it.

After a series of hard work, the Burger Satu Malaysia was finally conquered. *drum roll and cheers*

The price of this specially engineered burger by 3 PHD in Burger Chemistry Manufacturing and Engineering experts cost only RM11! Compared to McD, Carls Jr., Burger King, KFC and other fast food trademarks, even without fries and drinks, it was, to me, still, much more worth it, credits to its fresh patties, served cooking hot, smooth sauce texture at just nice spiciness level, fluffy buns, chewy benjo egg, and the secret ingredient - hot melting cheese.

Followed by a cold, chilling, smooth coconut jelly which sells at RM1.20 after a grilling hot burger, got to say, being at Wafiy's is like being in paradise. If Gun n Roses was here before "Paradise City" was written, I bet Wafiy's will be long famous now.

Ops, forgot to mention, the coconut jelly was not Wafiy's production. Its a creation of his friend which he helps to promote and some extra income.

The coolest part about Wafiy's that I loved was the community notice board. Whoever who has a notice for the community can place their fliers or posters at Wafiy's notice board. What a thoughtful man he is, Mr. Wafiy.

PS: They also have car stickers where you'll be entitled to discounts if you have it displayed on your car.

That concludes the VeryLapar Crew's trip to Wafiy Burger! Hope you liked it!
